One Night Only Gallery is a artist-run gallery space with a self explanatory name.
Every year we arrange about 30-35 shows. We open a new exhibition every monday night at eight o’clock, every week except for a break during the summer holidays. The show lasts till the end of the night. The high frequency of exhibitions and the short duration of each show creates a kind of atmosphere that urges the artist to be less pretentious. The works seem more naked and honest, and the artists are more open for experimentation. The art shown is closer to the studio than to the established institutions.
We welcome everyone to show at ONO. We show both established and unestablished artists, national and international. In addition to an open application process, we invite artists and curate exhibitions.
We like to focus on both the art and the artist. In the posters for
our shows we use a portrait of the artist to promote the show.
We think off what we do as a form of art activism.
It is a very social art event, with great art as well as drinks, free food and music.
One Night Only is a project that tries to make the art scene in Oslo more
vibrant and lively and Oslo a better place live.
One Night Only Gallery is currently located in UKS (Unge Kunstneres Samfund) premises in Lakkegata 55d, Oslo.
