Broken Dimanche Press

Broken Dimanche Press was started in 2008 . It exists in the projects it carries out across various cities of Europe with an ever-growing network of associate editors. Making beautiful books of the highest quality that explore the intersection of experimental literature, visual art, politics and translation, BDP is for the transposition of meaning and thought in contemporary society and culture and for finding new, aesthetic methods for such dissemination. They work in close collaboration with FUK Laboratories who complete their design work and most of our public statements. Their first publication You Are Here came second place in the European Charlemagne Prize. Most recently they have published a book of photography and poetry, a unique collaboration between Kerstin Cmelka and Ann Cotten. They have exhibited their occasional journal of art and literature The Kakofonie in countless venues, both momentous and ruinous. These include an abandoned shop in Oslo, a squat in Berlin, KW in Berlin Mitte, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Leipzig, countless bars, an abandoned swimming pool in Berlin Wedding, galleries, an intervention in the art exhibition Based in Berlin and our own current office Büro BDP.
